A Pride and Prejudice spectacular!

2nd July 2016

Ceremony: St Mary Church, Winterbourne

Reception: Downview Farm, Blandford Forum

Photographer: Gary Saunders Photography

Our lovely couple for this weeks real wedding is Matt and Claire who have known each other since they were young children and have the sweetest story behind the theme of their big day!

When Claire started her own Holiday Let business and needed a helping hand with her new website, Matt, of course, was only too happy to help, the more time they spent together, their friendship soon began to blossom and so one day… when they had their first kiss... there was no surprise there were total FIREWORKS!!

3 months later they were buying the cutest little Cottage together and although Claire does like to tell us (and we quote) “she did have to wait 9 bloody years for Matt to marry her” they had decided on choosing Pride and Prejudice as their wedding theme as Matt and Claire are very keen horse riders and total animal lovers. This particular idea developed from one of their many romantic stories, when Matt saw Claire's friend’s Black stallion and totally adored him, Claire decided to bring him home as a surprise and from that very moment he was her MR DARCY.

So now, Claire has finally married her Mr Darcy, and you can tell from the pictures taken by the talented Gary Saunders, it was such a beautiful and special day.

"It was as if you were stepping into a bygone era walking into the church" Claire tells us "I had to stop and take a breath as everyone looked so fabulous and had made such a huge effort to be in keeping with the theme". What's even better... even the Vicar got involved!

The wedding took place in a lovely little church in Winterbourne, Dorset. Matt arrived on his horse Kai for the Wedding which was such a romantic and personal touch. Their animals have always been a huge part of their lives so, along with their horses, their gorgeous dogs also had a big part to play - as bridesmaids and as second best man!! (Cue happy tears and smiles)

The reception was held in the grounds of the couple’s own property in Blandford Forum, with a wonderful picnic outside on the grass, before heading inside the beautifully transformed barn to dance the night away.

Isn’t this just a beautiful story with such personality! Share your views with us in the comments below, what is your favourite image and why? We would love to hear. Don't forget to check out the talented work of Gary Saunders too!
